Virginia Gubernatorial Candidates to be Featured on 'Inside Government'

AFL-CIO, AFGE Leaders Also to Discuss Employee Free Choice Act

WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This week, the American Federation of Government Employees' 'Inside Government' radio show will feature Virginia gubernatorial candidates Terry McAuliffe and Brian Moran, who both attended AFGE's recent Legislative and Grassroots Mobilization Conference. The show will air on Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. ET nationwide on Federal News Radio at www.federalnewsradio.com and 1500 AM in the Washington, D.C., area.

McAuliffe will discuss his political history, including his time as DNC chairman, and offer solutions to economic issues facing Virginians. Moran then will address his plan to create jobs in Virginia and rebuild infrastructure. But first, hear from AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker as she outlines the importance of passing the Employee Free Choice Act and AFGE 2nd District National Vice President Derrick Thomas, who will address AFGE's efforts at getting the Employee Free Choice Act passed, and a renewed sense of optimism within the federal workforce.

Additionally, Paul Ferris, AFGE Department of Defense Local 2516 president, will share his thoughts on the National Security Personnel System and its impact on worker morale. AFGE Local 237 President Robert McNeil will discuss the need for collective bargaining rights at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), whistleblower protections for Transportation Security Officers, and President Obama's campaign letter promising change at TSA.
